Casual cover band seeks bass player!

In a nutshell, we’re looking for a bass player. With the intention of a full lineup for rehearsals and maybe a few smaller gigs over the next year, we’re in need of someone to help out on bass. So far, we’ve generally made do with Pellie on bass, guitar, mandolin, keyboards and most of whatever needed doing for the studio work. This doesn’t translate well in a live scenario, of course. Do you feel like helping Ody out in the rhythm section? Do you prefer playing bass lines on a synth? That’s also fine – let’s hear it!
Who are we?

We’re an easy going three piece band from Enschede that loves to cover mainly rock and blues. While every one of us has seen their 30th birthday, we’re young at heart and always enjoy a good laugh and some music! Our current lineup consists of Bia (vocals, harmonica and other wind instruments), Ody (drums, backing vocals) and Pellie (guitars, bass, keyboards). The common language in the band is English with Dutch as a close second.
What do we do?
We play (and record) rock, rock’n’roll, blues and various other style covers. While there’s no fixed rehearsal schedule, we try to play together when possible and have some fun. Pellie lovingly refers to these events as “rhythm ‘n’ booze”, as a few beers are generally involved. Typically, rehearsals take place at a local studio (where we also record some parts from time to time) or Metropool.
What don’t we do?
Musically, we tend to steer clear of the current charts, country (with a few exceptions), jazz, hip hop, a lot of music that involves pointy guitars and anything that would conjure up the image of a mosh pit. None of us are looking for fortune and fame by means of the music, record contracts or becoming “celebrities”. We try not to take ourselves too seriously and we don’t have a ‘pecking order’ or band leader.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who shares our basic appreciation of music, can play bass and likes to have a laugh! In lieu of our general attitude, we’re happy to give things a whirl and see how it clicks. Ideally, someone with their own instruments/gear would be great – but we can accomodate for a lack of these if need be.
What can we provide?
Hopefully, some fun while making noise! We have a few keyboards, a bass guitar, recording facilities, drinks and transportation. While participation is voluntary, the band is willing to invest in equipment. If you have technical issues with your kit, chances are that Pellie can probably fix it, too.
Feel like a coffee and a chat about it? Would you prefer to drop in on a rehearsal and have a jam? We’d love to hear from you!
